Black Walnut
The Black Walnut, also known as Juglans nigra, is a member of the Juglandaceae family and is one of six species within the Juglans genus native to the United States. This tree is best known for its rich, dark wood and edible nuts. The bark, leaves, rind, and green nuts of the Black Walnut are commonly used for their medicinal properties and are typically extracted using alcohol or water as solvents. This tree is valued for its vermifuge properties, which expel parasitic worms, as well as its use as a tonic for overall health
